If you're a fan of classic FPS games or want a purer Counter-Strike experience without loot boxes or rampant cheating, CS:S is absolutely worth picking up — ideally on sale, as the player base has shrunk and you may find yourself relying on bots or modded community servers more than proper vanilla matches. Just be aware of some lingering technical quirks (Linux issues, occasional startup fixes needed) and a server browser that can be a bit of a wild west.
