AboutTransparencyHow It Works

I want to be transparent about how I use AI here. It helps me summarize reviews, but I’m the one overseeing it all. No bots on autopilot—just a smarter way for me to keep the site honest.

About Fairplay Reviews

I’m Chris, the person behind Fairplay Reviews. I wanted to be up-front about how I use AI here, mostly because I know how much "automated" content is flooding the internet lately. This site isn't a content farm, and it isn't running on autopilot.

The problem I wanted to solve was simple: how do you look at thousands of Steam reviews across hundreds of games and actually find a consensus?

If I tried to do that manually, I’d never get anything else done. Reading every review, spotting themes, and updating tags daily is impossible for one person. That’s where the AI comes in. It acts as a research assistant that never gets tired.

How it works

The AI reads through the top-rated Steam reviews for a game and identifies what players are mentioning most often. It looks for patterns in the feedback and keeps our tags updated as new reviews come in.

What it doesn’t do is make editorial calls. It doesn't decide if a game is "good" or "bad," and it doesn't invent its own opinions. It just summarizes what the community is already saying. I designed the methodology, I set the quality standards, and I’m the one who monitors the system to make sure it’s actually working.

Why do it this way?

It basically gives us the best of both worlds. We can cover way more games than a typical site, and the tags stay current. If player sentiment changes after a big patch, the tags will reflect that within 24 hours. Because every tag links back to the original reviews, you can always check the work yourself.

The human side of tings

While the AI handles the data, the values behind the site are mine. I’m a gamer who got fed up with sponsored content and inflated scores, so I built a tool to cut through that noise. I’m responsible for the ethics of the site and any big decisions on how the system improves.

I’m pretty camera shy, so you won’t see me on YouTube or a podcast anytime soon. But I am always reachable. If you see a tag that looks wrong or just want to chat about a game, you can email me at contact@fairplayreviews.net. I’m always happy to hear from people using the site.

Fairplay Reviews: Independent, transparent, and always working to earn your trust.
